May 25, 2005 Bonnie Cain Hello Friends, I hosted a student for 1999-2000 from Arnsburg and returned to Germany and a visit to Werl in 2001.Some of the PMQ's have been torn down but look much the same and are used for low income housing. The school has elementary still in it and the town has grown to include Wickede and the surroundings. Fort St. Louis and St. Anne are being allowed to crumble into a historic forest site while Fort Henry has an industrial use. The swans are still in the Park and the town has agreed to look after the graves of Canadians for another 50 years. Germany is very multinational now, some places were like Toronto for culture. My youngest son, Andy is currently in the Czech Republic with his fiance teaching English as a second language and playing baseball. Spent a lot of time at the Mohne Dam when I was at Fort Henry 56 to 58. We were single then and really enjoyed the area. Would like to hear from any friends that may remember me. Charlie And Betty will celebrate their 63rd anniversary on the 20 April 2005. My Dad will also celebrate his 90th birthday on the 2 August 2005. March 31, 2005 Bob Zwaagstra Age 8 to 11 years in W. Germany. I remember my 90 minute school bus rides the most. Big green military buses took me past the beautiful Mohnesee Dam each day to Fort Chambly School. Also no TV for 3 years but that didn't seem to matter as we could make our own fun. My Dad's name was Jean Jacques (Jack) a CPL. Mrs. Simmons taught me to draw. I've never forgotten. I was also part of the 1967 Centennial Choir.
