In June of 1964, my family took the train from Soest to Marville, France. We flew back to Canada on a Yukon. From the coast of Ireland to the coast of Newfoundland, I flew in the co-pilot’s seat and listened to radio communications with the contact ships below on the Atlantic.
My family voyaged to Holland on the Captain Cook in 1955 and returned on the Queen Frederica in 1957 having spent 1.5 yrs. in Soest, Germany and then about 1.5 years in Hemer. Our great accomplishment was not one of the five of us was seasick even in a horrid storm in the winter Atlantic.
