Bob | D'Avignon | I was loaned out to the Soest senior secondary school to help train the track team and we were quite successful. I met my first wife Marian Davies who was a teacher in Home economics at Soest Senior Secondary. She organized a breakfast club for my track fellows for early AM training before school. During the summer I was also loaned to the Summer Recreational program and Sgt Willie Wyler and I did Gym and swimming with the kids. Loved my stay there and the people I met. Some I am still in touch with. This is a great site that Marcel Lemarbre just told me about. I will definitely check in often. Anyone who knew me is welcome to get in touch. Keep up the great work webmasters.... | February 17, 2004 |

John P. | O'Meara | As a relief Manager/Operator we had WO`s and SGT`s status. And were at that time employed by the War Department (UK). We travelled by troop train and troop ship when need be. I celebrated my 21st birthday at Fort Prince of Wales. Spent the day exploring the woods at the rear of the camp. That is until some German Tanks (Training unit) came roaring out of the trees, and I had to run for it! Most of the time my accommodation was in the WO`s and SGT`s Mess, with 1 TPT Coy RCASC. Room 13. Occasionally I would be posted to British units throughout Germany, but always to return to Fort Chambly. Happy days, unfortunately never to return! Thanks for making me feel at home! | February 17, 2004 |
