- It is with great sadness that I see the state of Fort St Louis in its ruin and I remember the days of its shiny, proud state under the rule of Canada's Black Watch. I often thought that it was ironic that in the years following the move south to Lahr that our parent Regiment The Black Watch (RHR) were housed in Fort St Louis but renamed by the British Army after a battle honour from the Iberian Pennisular War with Napoleon. I guess it is true that must not return because it is never the same. Nemo Me Impune Lacessit. Bob Burns.
