- Served 17 years + in Germany. Met my wife at BMH Iserlohn. We have been married 43 years this September. We have two daughters and four granddaughters. Our eldest daughter married her German boyfriend and she lives in Schuttern. They run a "Gartnerei" (gardening business)....across from the Church in Schuttern. We now live in Kingston, Ontario. The best fresh water sailing in the world!!! We love to sail and enjoy our retirement. We visit Germany at least once a year. Lahr is still a very vibrant town... the Airfield has many new businesses. The Caserne is another matter...it looks derelict...weeds are growing up through the tarmac...the windows of the Canex offices are broken...the whole place is a mess. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who knew me!!! Gary.
