Great website. I truly enjoyed looking at all the old pictures and trying for the life of me to remember, or should I say reognize any of the faces. I remember when the RCR marched through Soest. They wanted their ranks to be pure, so those of us who were attached to the regiment were excluded from parade, and were able to watch the parade and take pictures from the side lines. The same was with the visit of the Queen. I remember attempting to join the Regimental Ski Team. Willy Rushorn was the team leader. He'd takes us into the hills and lay out old tires on the side of these steep hills and we'd have to run up and down the hills not only around the trees, but also around the old tires. Ultimately we went to Austria and there I ended up braking a set of skis. Cpl. Rushorn gave me his "Heads" and he bought a new set. There was an officer on the team to, and being I was not any more skilled than he, when they it came down to the cut, and being I was a Sig's type and not pure RCR, and not because he out ranked me, he got the nod.
