- My Father was the Protestant chaplain at Ft. York and Ft. Chambly at the time. We lived in the Soest PMQs. My two sisters, Marilyn and Ainslee, and my brother, Ian, all have wonderful memories of those years. We loved the Christmas Eve services with the choir descending the outside of the onion tower and the fun fair rides. I used to go and visit a horse that lived in the fields nearby. Does anyone else remember older German men shaking their fists at us when we walked by and they would sometimes yell at us? I would particularly like to hear from Mary Desjardins who was in my Grade 7 class in 1960-1961 and later moved to Ottawa and went to the same school (Bell High School) as I did from 1962-1963. This is a wonderful site. Thank you.
