- Wow, what a treat to find this site. It brought back a flood of childhood memories. My Dad was with the 8th Canadian Hussars, Mom worked at the Maple Leaf (Canex). I was one of the kids who had polio during my stay in Germany. I remember soaping the school windows on Halloween (my brother Richard Parry)turned us in. Loved the school dances. We were transferred to Petawawa in December 1962 where I remained until I married and moved on in 68. I've returned to Germany several times the last move in 1989 when we were transferred to Baden. I love Germany so much that we are considering retiring in the Rhine Valley. We are presently in Victoria, BC where we've been for over 20 years.Wow, what a treat to find this site.
