- My family lived in Soest from 1953-57. My dad was in Public Relations for the Canadian Armed Forces and reported for The Beaver, while my mother worked for Radio Canada International. We lived in the PMQs and a young German woman named Gisela lived with us and looked after my brother and sister and I. I believe she had relatives in Vellinghausen. I am going to Soest in a few months (September 2011) to re-visit the town and perhaps track Gisela down.
