There are photos from some of my earliest memories as my father was a serving officer and my Mother tells me we were of the first Canadian families to be stationed in Germany after WWII. My father was Andrew Greskiw. He passed away in 1961 so any information of this time in Germany would be interesting to me. May 17, 2007 Jim Wilson My dad was Maj. J.A. Wilson, 4 Fd Wksp, Fort Chambly. I would really like to hear from the gang in Grade 7 B. I remember most of you like it was yesterday. I am retired and live in Carleton Place, Ontario. I would also like to hear from anyone that knew my dad. He passed away quite a few years ago but the memories that this site bring back are sometimes overwhelming. Congrats to the remarkable individuals that started this. He was, apparently, living in the Glaerbach blocks in Helle-Balve, across from the Balve Hoehle, at the same time I was and, after discovering his site, he and I have corresponded a bit. He is very familiar with the area around Balve and the Hoennetal and, as he wrote, his hobby is the rail system, especially the one along the Hoennetal from Neuenrade, through Balve, to Menden (aka The Little Red Devil). Tanks for the memories April 23, 2007 Ed Lafleur I'm wondering if anyone remembers a 40ish Infantry officer Ed Lafleur, with the RCR or Vandoos. he left in 1956 back to Valcartier and then to the Citadel where he retired in 1965. he passed away in 1983. but his widow, Demerise Lafleur (Dempsie), lives in a nursing home in Kitchener, Ont., and three of his four kids live in Ontario. the other, me, lives in Courtenay, BC, where I was posted by the CAF in 1974, and took my release from the Regular Force in 1978 and from C Class Reserve in 1980. It was a great experience for the whole family. Some of my most memorable times were had with the 4CIBG and Lahr Motor sports Club in which we were quite active.
